January 7d7g challenge
A downloadable collection for Windows, macOS, and Linux
HEY GANG
I got tired of not making games so here's some games. There were going to be 7 of them but I was risking burnout so there's more like 2- 4 games. The situaaaaaaaa8ion is that I was going to make them all in 7 days but I had to compromise on deadlines repeatedly and then the Rose Lalonde game was turning out to need a bit more work than I was up for soooooooo yeah. is done!
The controls are z, x, c and the arrow keys (z is not used yet though getting used ever!, lol.). Press ESC if you want to change the game.
Here's some tips if you can't figure things out.
- For the second Princess Iris game, your speed while hovering is based on your current speed as well as the direction you're going compared to the direction you're trying to hover (you cannot take momentum and direct it in the exact opposite direction). Also there is a minimum cap on speed so the only way you get a nerfed float is if you intentionally don't press any movement keys before you float. (Hmmm... Maybe I should make it so you can use a neutral float even if you've already used up your float ability...)
- Also for the second Princess Iris game, if you're stuck at a big spike pit and a jump that seems much too high: I found a bug related to momentum and made a level feature based on it. Have fun!
- You need to hold up in the mining game to navigate up 1 tile inclines. If you dig tunnels right, you can navigate up with zig zagging tunnels, but its tricky. This game is kind of a miss but if you figure out the jank you might have fun with it.
To mac users: I don't want to configure or figure out how to sign my games for your weird operating system. Turn off your system defenses (Gatekeeper) and allow me free reign to do horrible things to your computer (I will make you play videogames).

You need the pck file if you have a windows executable. I think also if you're on linux too. I don't know how mac works. Yalls are on your own.
Here's the repo if you hold curiosity or fear in your heart: https://github.com/Cassumbra/january-7d7g-challenge
UPDATE: I have released a new version of the collection. Its "version 1". I don't think you can use butler to push changes to downloads you set up directly through the website so there's just gonna be duplicates I guess. Oh well. Enjoy!
What's included is mostly some minor tweaks, but I did also finish the Rose Lalonde game. Wahoo!
